Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that allows for the experience of being truly seen and truly heard. It seeks to deepen self-awareness and increase self-confidence, thereby making real connection outside the therapy room more possible and more fulfilling.
Most of us have suffered from external losses and disappointments and many of us continue to suffer as those losses are woven into our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world around us. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore and understand the complex dynamics at play in our suffering and allows us to utilize insight and relationship to move toward increased ease and liberation.
I work with adults and adolescents in Baltimore, Maryland to provide individual, couples, and family therapy. My areas of particular clinical interest include depression & other mood disorders, anxiety, loss & bereavement, trauma - especially trauma occurring in the context of college fraternity structures - relationship & intimacy issues, ADHD & issues impacting academic achievement, personality structure and pathology, creative/artistic blocks, issues specific to athletes & athletic performance, and individual & family transitions.
I view the therapeutic relationship as the site of potential transformation. The relationship between therapist and patient is the most important factor in successful therapy. One size does not fit all, and I enjoy working with people who have had negative or lackluster experiences in previous therapies and those who are ambivalent about beginning therapy.
We will work collaboratively to identify the problems and symptoms showing up in your life, and the behaviors or patterns that might not be serving you in the way they once did. Whether your struggle is deeply rooted or a temporary challenge, whether you are in crisis or looking to deepen your self-awareness, therapy can be the journey that heals and illuminates.
FEES & INSURANCE
Individual psychotherapy sessions are 45 minutes long and occur one or more times per week. My fees are industry standard for Baltimore.
I am not in-network with any insurance provider but can be seen as an out-of-network provider if you have out-of-network benefits. This means you will pay for services directly and request reimbursement from your insurance company; I will provide you with monthly invoices needed to do this. Each company has different policies for reimbursement; you are encouraged to find out what your plan offers before our initial meeting.
