Alex Samets is a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist in private practice in Baltimore, MD. She was the co-founder of The Baltimore Center for Psychotherapy, a collaborative group practice and training center in Baltimore’s historic Hampden neighborhood. Alex holds a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies in New York City, a Master of Fine Arts from Sarah Lawrence College and a Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. She completed a post-master's fellowship at The Menninger Clinic in Houston, Texas where she trained as a family therapist. Much of Alex’s work involves the treatment of trauma, loss & bereavement, depression, and relationship issues. Alex works with individuals, couples, and families, and specializes in working with older adults, college students, artists, and athletes.
